pyü-ˈbe-sən(t)s
When I was in high school, my body notified the world that I was going through puberty. No, not boobies. PIMPLES!! ACNE! Whatever you want to call them. My mom told me that it was just a phase and that when I grow out of it I'll have healthy smooth skin again. WRONNNGGG. I mean,I don't look like I'm a pubescent teen anymore, but I still do break out sometimes and it's very irritating being that I'm 24! I guess for as long as I'm bleeding out of my vagina I will keep having zits appear randomly on my face when it's "that time of the month."
Yes, I have tried everything. Experimented with various popular products such as: Proactiv, Neutrogena, and Clean & Clear. I've also used some weird pasty thing that my mom bought me from the Chinese store. My dad told me to put my face over a steaming rice. Results? No. Nope. Nah.
Now there's a few things you should know before I reveal to you what has been clearing my face. I'm a Sephora junkie, I'm also every retailers worst nightmare, and I watch Dr. Oz. I have an addiction to shopping - a typical shopaholic, but that's not the bad part. I almost always get buyer's remorse and return about 90-100% of what I buy. My friends, I am an avid returner. Now what the hell does Dr. OZ have anything to do with this? Well, watching the show inspires me to be healthy. Also he's charmed his way into my heart.
So since his show aired and I watched the very first episode, I've been changing my ways and paying attention to things that I put in and on my body. Well, one day I thought. I should switch all my beauty items to natural and organic. My first instinct is to look at Sephora because I can return it if I don't like the product. Now I use Boscia for my face and my face has never looked better. I also use Alba Botanica's Natural Acne Dote (which I found on sale at Target). Those two products have gotten rid of my nasty stubborn period pimples. YAY!
I don't know if it will work for those who are have really bad breakouts. I do break out, but only around my period and it's sparse, but BIG. You know the type that one day your itching and then the next day that itchy spot erupted into a mountain of a pimple? Yea. So when I switched over to natural beauty products, at first I got little tiny bumps, but then it cleared off. If you decide to go natural don't expect instant results. You have to wait it out for at least 2 weeks and hopefully you'll notice a difference. It worked for me.

Glass Bead Art
I've been so busy since my last post! So many things have happened! I've been featured in two more blogs. Check it out @ TOV ♥. I was also the lucky winner of a giveaway hosted by Bobbie Pene, a glass bead artist, from New Zealand. What can I say about her pieces? They are EXQUISITE! Amazing little beads that pack an eyeful of wonder. I don't know how she manages to make glass beads so damn beautiful or how she gets the air bubbles right in the middle of the flowers. Here are the pics I took today. Marvel with me people. Just marvel...

Seriously, even if you don't care for beads, aren't they just beautiful? |

Close up look: BANTHRICO LINCOLN BROUGHAM
This is not your ordinary piggy bank. This is for the grown-ups who love the look of vintage cars. The wheels spin like a real toy car and there is a metal stopper in the bottom. I love this old school car!

Close up look: MY FIRST SALE!
I got my first sale on Sunday! I was so excited I couldn't sleep. I kept thinking about ideas on how to package my items. Here's what I worked on all day Monday before I went to the post office =) How do you package your items?
I shed a tear for my beloved vintage and prepared them for their new home. |
Here's the end result! All the inserts are neatly arranged inside and tied with a bow. You wouldn't guess what I used to tie it up - DENTAL FLOSS! |
One last hug before you leave me. |
=( goodbye vintage! enjoy your new home! |

let's sacrifice health for a good photoshoot
This was a very good weekend for me. I spent Saturday and Sunday having pictures taken for up and coming items for the TOV shop. The downside: Mr. Sun played mind games with me and made me believe that it was warm outside. Those rays sure seemed inviting. I sucked it up and stood in the cold in an attempt to look cute in vintage. By Saturday evening, I was already coughing. Come Sunday afternoon, I was outside in the cold again as if Saturday didn't already kicked my ass and never existed. Where's my Airborne?
Here are some pics that didn't make the cut. Don't mind the red eyelids and nose. The wind was harsh, but I double dare you to make fun of me. Let me start it off: look at how my feet, hands and face are lighter than the rest of my body. In some pictures it looks like I don't believe in lotion. HA.

eye candy: Armando Caruso 80's handkerchief
I posted a vibrant Armando Caruso handkerchief today on my shop and it's the first time I've ever retracted an item. I think it has a little something to do with the fact that it used to be my moms, but that's not the whole reason because all the handkerchiefs in my possession, so far, used to be hers. I just adore this. The colors pop and the pattern is just magnificent. I don't even use handkerchiefs, ever, but man oh man is this one some good eye candy. Maybe I'll frame it and hang it in my room. Before, I used to carry it in my purse. It sat there looking pretty. Not a bad occupation for a handkerchief. My bf said I should just list it, but what do men know about women and fashion? This is coming from a guy that thinks harem pants are not attractive. If you concur with this theory, then get the fuck outta here. Harem pants are the shit.

Close up look: GEM CROSSBODY BAG
Enough with those skirts, for now. Here's a close up look of one of my favorite purse finds. 100% leather. Made in Brazil. Pure fabulousness. Take a gander at the weave and braid of the leather. ABSOLUTELY mouthwatering! I can already see it paired with a boho maxi dress or with high waist shorts, a floral top, and sweater combo. Perfect for holding essentials. I can fit my huge wallet, phone (droid), small Moleskine notebook, a pen, Burt's Bees lip balm and cuticle cream without losing them in the notorious black hole of an oversized purse.

Sneak peek: CRIMSON RED SKIRT
Can you tell I like skirts? Here's a sneak peek of this AMAZING high waisted skirt that I found! I was immediately titillated when I saw this. The red is vibrant as can be and it had the most unusual print of village folk people. Oh yea, and there's also reindeer and dogs and pleats! Seriously, how cute is that?
