Close up look: MY FIRST SALE!

I got my first sale on Sunday! I was so excited I couldn't sleep. I kept thinking about ideas on how to package my items. Here's what I worked on all day Monday before I went to the post office =) How do you package your items?

I shed a tear for my beloved vintage and prepared them for their new home.

My thank you card design. Of course, I had to blur out my customer loyalty coupon code. =) The card design is small, but it packs a wallop! The card itself is printed on a heavier piece of paper and the 4 inserts are printed on just regular computer paper. Contact me if you want to promote your shop as one of the inserts in my thank you card.
Here's the end result! All the inserts are neatly arranged inside and tied with a bow. You wouldn't guess what I used to tie it up - DENTAL FLOSS!
One last hug before you leave me.
=( goodbye vintage! enjoy your new home!

let's sacrifice health for a good photoshoot

This was a very good weekend for me. I spent Saturday and Sunday having pictures taken for up and coming items for the TOV shop. The downside: Mr. Sun played mind games with me and made me believe that it was warm outside. Those rays sure seemed inviting. I sucked it up and stood in the cold in an attempt to look cute in vintage. By Saturday evening, I was already coughing. Come Sunday afternoon, I was outside in the cold again as if Saturday didn't already kicked my ass and never existed. Where's my Airborne?

Here are some pics that didn't make the cut. Don't mind the red eyelids and nose. The wind was harsh, but I double dare you to make fun of me. Let me start it off: look at how my feet, hands and face are lighter than the rest of my body. In some pictures it looks like I don't believe in lotion. HA.

eye candy: Armando Caruso 80's handkerchief

I posted a vibrant Armando Caruso handkerchief today on my shop and it's the first time I've ever retracted an item. I think it has a little something to do with the fact that it used to be my moms, but that's not the whole reason because all the handkerchiefs in my possession, so far, used to be hers. I just adore this. The colors pop and the pattern is just magnificent. I don't even use handkerchiefs, ever, but man oh man is this one some good eye candy. Maybe I'll frame it and hang it in my room. Before, I used to carry it in my purse. It sat there looking pretty. Not a bad occupation for a handkerchief. My bf said I should just list it, but what do men know about women and fashion? This is coming from a guy that thinks harem pants are not attractive. If you concur with this theory, then get the fuck outta here. Harem pants are the shit.

Close up look: GEM CROSSBODY BAG

Enough with those skirts, for now. Here's a close up look of one of my favorite purse finds. 100% leather. Made in Brazil. Pure fabulousness. Take a gander at the weave and braid of the leather. ABSOLUTELY mouthwatering! I can already see it paired with a boho maxi dress or with high waist shorts, a floral top, and sweater combo. Perfect for holding essentials. I can fit my huge wallet, phone (droid), small Moleskine notebook, a pen, Burt's Bees lip balm and cuticle cream without losing them in the notorious black hole of an oversized purse.

GEM CROSSBODY BAG: Front and back view is identical.

GEM CROSSBODY BAG: Detail of texture and strap.

GEM CROSSBODY BAG: Detail of zipper label.

Sneak peek: CRIMSON RED SKIRT

Can you tell I like skirts? Here's a sneak peek of this AMAZING high waisted skirt that I found! I was immediately titillated when I saw this.  The red is vibrant as can be and it had the most unusual print of village folk people. Oh yea, and there's also reindeer and dogs and pleats! Seriously, how cute is that?

Close up look: MEADOWBANK HIGH WAIST FLORAL PRINT SKIRT

High waists and long skirts are in for Spring! Here's a close up look of another skirt for sale in the T.O.V. shop. I was attracted to this skirt by the colors and the unusual print. The print consists of this S-like swirl pattern with splashes of florals. The colors are vibrant and deep. Think: regal and feminine. Bring out the lady inside of you and meet up with some friends for a bit o' tea n crumpets or vamp it up and visit the nearest sex museum and unleash those naughty thoughts you've been suppressing. Feeling prudish? Download Rihanna's S&M and put it on replay until you're ready to come out of your shell , preferably with a daring leather bra. Did I mention innerwear is hot as outerwear?

Close up look: DVF HIGH WAIST ROSE PRINT SKIRT

I love all the skirts that I have picked out for my shop, but this is defiantly in my top 5. This 80's skirt has class, style, grunge and can be very sexy. It has pretty modest coverage (I'm 5' 4" and the bottom falls just below my knees), but paired with the right top - you can tease. Only wear miniskirts? No problem, tailor it however you want after you purchase it, of course. Trust me, though. You won't want to fiddle with it's original state once you get hold of it. Perfect for hanging out with the girls, heading out to the city, or going to the supermarket (if that's what your inner diva's into).

I'm going to MOO, how bout you?

I'm slowly getting my shop together and although I haven't made a sale yet, my spirits are still high and I'm preparing for when I do. I've finally decided to make business cards with MOO and contemplating on purchasing Thank You cards through them as well. If you don't like the cards that you have now or if you don't have any yet, the MOO MiniCards, I think, are perfect! They're fairly cheap, double sided, durable and chic. I'm definitely going to take advantage of the fact that you can put a different image on each business card by putting images of my items from my shop on the back of each one.

My goal is to have my customers coming back, so when I finally get a purchase I'll include one of my MiniCards that I feel would best suit the customer as a recommended pick. Maybe I'll even throw in a promotional code to help. I haven't made them yet, but I'm very excited! I still have to take more pictures for my cards, because I want 100 different images on each one. Hopefully within the next couple days I'll have all my images  picked out so I can order these and showcase them on here. =)

CHEERS and WELCOME!

T A S T E of V I N T A G E is simply this: A collection of yet another one of my unhealthy obsessions. It's a showcase of goods big and small that throughout the years have tickled my fancy. My goal is to have you leaving my shop with that same giddy feeling I've experienced with each piece.

Stay tuned because I will be posting more photos detailing the 14 vintage items that I have for sale right now and I will be getting ready to show you all my amazing finds!
